MacGregor 26X, 2000
I bought this boat in 2003 from a brokerage in Newport Beach, CA. I am the second owner of the boat. The boat was used in salt water until I bought it. Since then, it has been out on salt water only once for a few hours. All other time has been in fresh water. There is some corrosion on the boat, trailer and engine from the salt water but, overall, not very much.
There is a coat of bottom paint and anti-fouling paint on the bottom but this is now about 10 years old. The hull is in nice condition with few dings and the boat has never been in an accident or had hull damage.
The sails are original and are in good shape. The mainsail is blown out a bit more than a new sail but its stitching was recently gone over by Kerr Sailmakers in Tulsa, OK. The mainsail is always covered by a black Sunbrella sun cover. The 150% Genoa is set up for roller furling and has a black sun cover stitched in. All stitching was recently redone by Kerr Sailmakers as well. All sail lines are in good working order.
All life lines and standing rigging are original and in good shape.
Running rigging is also original and in good shape, except for the reefing line for the 150% Genoa. This line was replaced in 2005.
The mast is straight and has never been in an accident. All stays are in good shape. The steaming light works fine. There is a VHF antenna mounted at the top along with a Windex instrument.
The boat comes with the mast raising kit and a grey Sunbrella bimini top that covers the back half of the cockpit. There are two anchors with 150 feet of line and chain. There is a Humminbird GPS/Chart Plotter and a compass at the steering pedestal.
The engine is a 2000 Suzuki DF-50T 50HP engine. It pushes the boat along nicely and is very reliable. It has been well maintained. There are two 12 gallon fuel tanks included that fit nicely in the cockpit.
A new steering system was installed in 2010. This replaced the original MacGregor rack-and-pinion system that had a tendency to rust out. The steering is smooth and reliable. All paperwork is available for this conversion.
The cabin of the boat is fairly standard. The galley has an Orinoco alcohol stove, tiled counter top and deep sink with pump faucet. I have the collapsible water tanks for this system but they are currently not installed. The table/seating area is standard and has a chart installed within the table. There is a nice Teak and Holly floor in the cabin. All cushions are standard and in good condition.
