Boat has had a lot of work done on it: transom cut out to improve access to the outboard motor (safety improvement); carbon fiber & kevlar rudder; awlgrip paint job; inter-protect barrier coat; VC offshore bottom paint.
#14 has competed in the GYA Challenge Cup in 2006, 2007, 2008 and placed 1st, 3rd, and 2nd in a very competitive fleet of well sailed S2 7.9s, Olson 25s, Wavelength 24s, J24s, J22s, etc.
The Soverel 26 does so well SYC bought one and took all 1st places in the 2010 GYA Challenge Cup.
These boats are rockets to weather, and go downwind extremely well.
Heavy enough to blast through the chop. Wide enough to stay powered up with out excessive number of crew on the rail. These boats were way ahead of there time.
