Originally from the Detroit area this was a great lakes boat, before being relocated to Kansas 6 years ago. I've had this boat for four years at Smithville Lake, MO and have taken very good care of it, as have previous owners.
This is a full keel boat, so does take a bit to launch and retrieve, but is by far a better sailing boat than a swing keel, and is a good step to sailing an ocean going sailboat because of its handling characteristics.
S2 sailboats, now Tiara Yachts, were made into the late 80's.
This particular model has a balsa-wood laminated top to reduce top end weight.
Interior is also very nice, spacious, and reasonably modern for a 1980 boat. The hull is a very classic design including a sloped transom, but a modern top, that is closer to sailboat built in the 90’s.
Basic specs: 24' length, 8' beam, 4' draft. Gross weight 3250 lbs. 1300 lb full keel
