The Slipper is a sloop rigged, shoal-keeled/centerboard boat.
This boat is very safe and stable due to its wide beam.
It has a large cockpit and is very comfortable.
The cabin is designed to sleep 4 people in a v-berth and two quarterberths (they would have to be very good friends though).
It is trailerable behind a mid-sized car.
The mast can be stepped by two people (one if you set it up with a mast raising system).
Some of the specifics of this particular boat:
Hull has been barrier coated with Interlux 3000, currently has Interlux ACT anti-fouling paint
Tan-bark sails (orginal, reconditioned by Sailcare in 2010)
4 hp Mariner 2 stroke motor that has always been run on ethanol-free gas and winterized properly. It is very reliable.
All lines led aft for single handed sailing (2009)
New sail covers (2010)
Most of the running rigging was replaced in 2009
Set-up for quick reefing in heavy wind
Comes with factory trailer in good condition. Trailer has new tires.
New aluminum centerboard installed last fall. The old one rusted and I had sailed it for years without one.
The boat has a few cosmetic issues. The rubrail is also coming off in one spot, and could be reseated or replaced. The bottom paint needs to be touched up if you are going to moor it. I have a full can of anti-fouling that goes with the boat. The compass fluid drained over the winter and it will need to be repaired or replaced.
This is a fun boat to sail. Great for taking friends or children out.
