Islander 32 Mark 2, Tall rig, 1979, Mobile Bay, Alabama
I have just completed extensive bottom repairs, 2 coats of barrier coat, copper based ablative antifouling paint, a new cutlass bearing and new strut bolts. 2 coats of hull primer and 2 coats of white hull paint.
Over the last 2 years we have resurrected this islander from 8+ years of abandonment and lived on board at the same time. In fall during most of November and into Dec. We cruised from Joe Wheeler State park in N. Alabama down the Tenn Tom waterway to Mobile bay where we are now at Turner marine. On our trip down the Tenn-Tom the 4 cyl. Westerbeke diesel purred like the proverbial kitten getting about 8-9 miles per gallon and didn't use a drop if oil. I expect to be back in the water before the end of May so if you are interested now would be a good time while it is still on stands.
This boat has spent its last 12 years+ in fresh water on Wheeler lake.
This is our full time home so our price is firm. In July we will go back up the waterway to Demopolis to wait out the hurricane season and in Oct/Nov. we will come back down and head south. One way trip. We ain't coming back.
The boat is Alabama registry and the title is clear.
Below is a list of the things we have done and are still in the works.
