Catalina 25, 1984
Iris is a all freshwater Catalina 25 with a racing and cruising history on Lake Simcoe, Lake Huron, Lake St. Clair and Lake Ontario.
She comes well equipped for weekending or longer cruises, and has a full suit of sails. For electronics, she has a full suite (Wind speed & direction, depth, knots, and compass) however her masthead instruments are missing, so the windspeed and direction gauges are mostly just decoration, although they do work. She is equipped with a standard Horizon chartplotter.
For power Iris comes with an evinrude 9.9 HP engine which is equipped with electric and pull start. We have never wired in the electric start, but it did spin the engine when I gave it a try.
Inside you will find a newer west-marine stereo, new interior lighting (halogen with red night bulbs) and reading lights in the Vee Berth. Power distribution panel was replaced last year. Second distribution panel added. AC shore power as well as 12 V system in boat, with Xantrax battery charger and two 110V outlets inside for running your gear. A solar battery charge controller tracks volt and amp usage and allows for solar charging in a pinch. Solar panel is available.
Interior upholstery is worn but serviceable. Vee Berth is lined with stowage pockets. Head is original and functional. Hanging locker opposite head. Traditional layout. Simnple mod with slats and air mattress will allow queen size inflatable mattress if desired.
We have a bimini for her (never installed).
As far as sails go... All sails are either from when she was commissioned (1984) or from about 2008. They include:
1. Storm Jib
2. 110% Cruising jib in good condition
3. 110% UK Halsey Battened Racing jib in very good condition (some wear on batten pockets)
4. 155% Cruising Genoa (Dacron) in fair condtion
5. 155% UK Halsey Tapedrive Racing Genoa (Laminate) in fair condition (some delamination along foot of sail)
6. Cruising main in good condition - 1 reef point, missing one batten.
7. Racing Main in excellent condition - 2 reef points, deep roach.
She is showing some wear from some dock bumps etc. but overall a strong hull with great sailing characteristics. Please contact me with any questions.
