This Merit is in very good condition overall and is excellently prepared for racing, single handing or cruising. There is no looseness in the keel which is a common problem. See photos for tight keel/hull joint.
This boat has raced successfully and is always competitive in PHRF or Portsmouth fleets. This boat is for sale only because I've accepted a job in an area where I can't sail her.
Major maintenance projects completed include:
bottom barrier coated and faired
all standing rigging replaced
repair rotten core section between mast and hatch, recored with balsa, all deck area stiff all deck hardware removed, holes enlarged and filled with epoxy and redrilled
hull deck joint opened, old sealant removed, resealed with 3M 5300, toerail resealed with butyl tape, watertight joint!
all running rigging is high performance line in good to excellent condition
