Corsairs are the most popular brand of trimaran on the market because they are fast, solid, safe, and easy to sail. Corsair pioneered high strength and lightweight construction technology incorporating aerospace composite techniques, foam sandwich construction, glass fabrics, carbon fiber, Kevlar unidirectionals, and vacuum bagging for ideal glass to resin ratio; all of which provides positive buoyancy - they cannot sink.
Designed by Ian Farrier, the F-24, Mk II is a great boat for day sailing or racing, adaptable for "camper sailing," with cabin convertible to four cushioned berths (2 are smaller). Easy to rig and launch from trailer; and with daggerboard raised & rudder pivoted up, can pull directly on beach or anchor close inshore. Farrier's patented system of folding akas is simple, quick, and strong. Pop up companionway hatch permits easy ingress/egress while maintaining low profile.
This boat is currently located at Pier 121 on Lake Lewisville, Lewisville TX, the extra wide slip accommodates the boat with amas extended and is available through at least March 2016, $389/mo.
