After a lot of great sailing experiences, I am selling my M17. She will be missed, but I need something larger for my family. This boat is ready for cruising! A beautiful and rugged Lyle Hess design built Jerry Montgomery.
Fixed Keel Ballast: 550lb
Centerboard: Cast Iron
Total weight: 1700lbs
The boat has many upgrades....
New main with a single reefing point from Ulman Sails.
New 125% genoa and 75% working jib from Ulman Sails.
Original main, 150% genoa, and working jib are still functional and sold with the boat.
New standing rigging (stays/shrouds/turbuckles)
New running rigging (halyards, sheets, reefing lines)
Halyards routed to the cockpit for ease of sailing.
New traveler hardware.
New electrical system with VHF radio, DC/USB charging ports, running lights, anchor light. New AGM battery.
Solar charging system with solar panel and solar charger.
Anchor with lots of chain and line.
Centerboard recently removed, sandblasted, and painted (epoxy barrier coat). Centerboard works perfectly.
New epoxy barrier coat on the bottom (no bottom paint as she was trailer sailed)
Non-skid portions of deck restored with new paint.
Deck fittings recently removed and sealed.
Teak is in good condition and frequently oiled.
Windows restored with new Plexiglas and sealed.
Rudder recently refinished with epoxy and varnish.
2004 Mercury 4-stroke outboard. Very few hours. Looks and runs like new.
Trailer restored with LED lights, new electrical wiring, new hubs, new bearings, new bearing buddies, new wheels, and new tires.
Trailer is powder coated white and looks new.
In the years I have owned the boat, it has been sailed at Catalina Island, Lake Tahoe, San Diego Harbor, Lake Pleasant, Lake Chelan, and most recently, the Snake River in Washington. The boat took 3rd place overall in the 2016 Chelan Regatta.
