The last Rocket produced by Sylvana Yachts and finished by the current owner in 2015/16. This boat is super fun and lively to sail, will plane in 10-15 knots of wind but can be handled easily from the cockpit with only 2 or 3 people.
Infused resin foam core fiberglass construction
Foam cored stainless keel foil fitted to the lead bulb with a machined key.
Carbon fiber mast and boom from Forte Spars with a Boomkicker. Original plastic mainsail track replaced with fabricated 6061aluminum track bonded and riveted to mast with a repair section included. This set up
adds a few pounds to the rig but is very tough. It also allows the mainsail to be safely reefed without risk of damaging the track and can be repaired using common marine adhesive instead of the special epoxy required to fix the plastic one.
All new standing and running rigging with approximately 20 days use. Harken blocks throughout with Harken winches for headsail and spinnaker trim
North Sails Nordac fully battened main with slides, roller furling jib and .75oz asymmetrical spinnaker.
The boat was set to be a family performance daysailer hence the mainsail slides and hanks on the jib for easy hoisting and dousing. Both the main and jib could be easily converted back to use a luff rope for the main and zipper for the jib.
Stainless keel crane with a clutch type manual winch for easy raising and lowering of the keel when dry sailing the boat off the trailer.
After a few practice runs, two people can rig and launch the Rocket in two hours or if rigged put it on and off the trailer in 30 minutes. The standing rigging always stays tuned and the mast jack provides rig tension for sailing and slack for stowing the rig for transport.
Custom built trailer by Road Runner with hydraulic surge brakes that has never been in the salt water.
Brand new 3.5hp Mercury outboard.
The boat is on its trailer in Golden BC and ready to be inspected or shipped. Also may be available for a test drive through the spring and summer but work commitments have left little time to use the boat and is the reason for selling.
This is a complete, almost brand new Rocket 22 that retailed without sails, outboard or a keel crane for almost 40k CAD in 2009.
