Starwind 19, 1984

  • Location: Waukegan Harbor - Waukegan, IL

I'm upgrading to a larger boat so my current one has to go! This easy to handle Starwind has the following features:

  • Fantastic interior with new memory foam and sunbrella fabric all around (professionally made covers)
  • Newer cabin headliner -Rebedded deck hardware -Sleeps four people without being cramped -LED lighting on trailer, interior and steaming (mast) light -Many new running lines
  • 4 hp Mercury (rebranded Tohatsu) outboard
  • LOTS of new parts as I wanted to make sure it was reliable
  • Two gallon gas tank + 2/3g tank in outboard
  • Stripped bottom paint and applied Blue Water Marine Bottom Protect Barrier Primer and Coppersheild 45 in July
  • Jib is in good condition and main is fair
  • Newer West Marine switch panel
  • Stereo
  • Many sunbrella covers and storage pockets
  • Topside paint w/antislip additive in many areas
  • Newer Hawkeye depth finder
  • Windex
  • Safety equipment including flares, life jackets, whistle, air horn, throwable PDF, etc
  • Dan forth anchor and rode
  • Rule bilge pump

  • Galvanized Magic Tilt trailer with newer tires and new bearings, races, bearing buddy's, bow safety chain, wider keel bunk and guide posts
  • Newer Marine Battery

  • Parts replaced in the last couple of years:
  • on deck jib bag, jib halyard, vented siphon loop, sink drain and pendant tubing, beautiful tiller, battery box w/strap, longer rudder bolt to accommodate lock nut, winter tarp and bags for cushions, indoor/outdoor mat for cabin floor, fast release pins for faster rigging,
  • Onboard battery charger -5A alternator in outboard
  • Voltmeter
  • Easy to step mast and easy to launch with a draft of 1.5ft thanks to it's shoal keel
  • Very lightweight, yet stable (400lbs of ballast). Can be towed by most cars and SUV's

This boat has been an excellent starter boat that sails well even far up into the wind. Welcraft did an excellent job building a solid boat that in my opinion is far better than most small Catalina's. It is currently in Waukegan harbor. An electric winch to make mast stepping even easier is also available separately.
