Montgomery 17, 1974
This is the Montgomery 17 as Lyle Hess first designed it; with a cast iron fin/bulb keel. The boat is stiffer and stands up to a breeze better than the later keel/cb versions. Boats like this have sailed across the pacific and made other long voyages. It has just been refurbished with Interlux 2000 barrier coat, coprus oxide black bottom paint and deep green acrylic enamel topsides with gold boot and cove stripes and lettering. The keel bolts have been replaced and the keel re-bedded. The boat is ready to go.
