Great family day sailor/weekender cruiser. Shoal draft keel 1'6"/6'0" swing centerboard allows for easy trailer launch and gunk holing in the shallowest water, right up to the beach. Deep draft with the CB down gives you great control in heavy winds.
We've done tons of work on both the boat and trailer over the 6 years we've owned it. We never planned on selling it anytime soon so we did things for the long haul.
It's been a safe reliable boat for our kids to learn to sail on but now they are a little older and want to race with us so were moving up to a cruiser/racer for the whole family!
This is a BIG little boat, much larger feeling and more stable than most 23 footers, tons of freeboard. Watkins were well built, know as the "poor mans Packet" built a few miles down the road from Island Packet Yachts, they incorporated many of the features from the IP's in their classic designs.
