Believed to be hull number #30. This boat is in excellent condition, it is Not a project boat. Cutter rigged, roller furling on genoa, original club footed jib. All working sails are in 80% + condition. Two burner stainless propane stove permanently installed, marine head with Y valve and holding tank. Two bimini's, dodger, Two anchors, two anchor rodes each 250', all safety equipment, Navco electronic tiller coupled autopilot with GPS tracking. Inside is beautiful, outside is clean. This is a world capable cruiser. The owner is taking Nothing off the boat, there is a LOT of gear that is included. 4'x5'x4' dockbox full of boat gear, shoreside air-conditioner. Please pay close attention: ENGINE: there is no engine. The original Volvo diesel has been removed, the propeller shaft is laying free in the engine compartment. This saves the new purchaser from the labor and expense to remove that old engine. (you can't get parts for a 35 year old engine anyway.) This leaves you to select the engine you prefer. There is a 9.9 hp Evinrude OB mounted on a Fulton OB bracket, long shaft, saildrive, elect. start with remote controls. This is reported to be a good engine, but it is Not running at this time. Two sinks, fresh water holding tank, manual pumps. Dual recent marine 12V batteries, battery charger, all interior lighting system just recently new. Electric and manual bilge pumps. The boat is located in South St. Petersburg, Florida at a full service marina.
5 Bags of sails; #1 Genoa, #2 Genoa, Working Jib, Cruising Main 3 reef points w/Jiffy reefing, Storm Jib. Sails alone are valued at over $5,000.
Excellent condition.
Extras include boat hooks, lots of extra line, fenders, electric buffer, electric sander, varnish, etc. etc
THE FOLLOWING IS A REPRINT OF THE ORIGINAL FACTORY BROCHURE
I just learned that during the first 3 years of manufacture the port lights were NOT bronze. See photos. The thru-hull fittings are all bronze and there is the factory lightening ground protection system installed.

The Cape Dory 28 offers her owner more practical cruising features combined in one design than other yachts of her size ... features such as a self-tending club footed jib for effortless windward sailing ... a bowsprit that incorporates an anchor roller ... and a large Volvo Diesel that adds safety and dependability. These features, when combined with the famous Alberg full keel and moderate, well-distributed sail plan result in a yacht that is easily handled by a minimum of crew. Her hefty displacement of 9,000 pounds, and her long keel with attached rudder allow the Cape Dory 28 to hold her course in a seaway. These features mean comfortable motion, stiffness, and security to all aboard. Other standard equipment such as bronze opening ports, lightning ground system, bronze seacocks on all thru-hull fittings and solid bronze hardware, reflect the determination of Cape Dory to supply a cruising boat of the highest standards.
Take a close look at the Cape Dory 28. We think you'll agree she is the answer to a cruising family's dreams.
