This is a well designed, well made boat that guarantees a good skipper a great time.
The huge sail area and flat aft section enable you to plane the boat in moderate winds.
The boat points well to windward and powers up nicely off wind.
The wide beam and hard chines provide good initial stability.
Although very similar to a Laser, it does not have a "tippy" feel when you get in the boat.
The mahogany bright work and oak tiller and extension were recently carefully refinished with many coats of good quality spar varnish.
The gel coat is nice and glossy.
The black anodized Kenyon spars are straight and true and the sail is in good condition.
The well thought out cockpit layout allows her to be sailed with an adult at the helm and still provides room for a small to medium size crew person.
Factory controls include a conveniently located traveler, vang, downhaul and outhaul.
The trailer was just refinished with good quality enamel. The tires are good, the wheel bearings have been cleaned, inspected and re-packed and the lights and wiring harness are new. The trailer requires a 1 7/8" ball.
Weeks Yacht Yard continues to manufacture Force 5's and all replacement parts. A new Force 5 is now $5950 plus tax w/o trailer.
My Force 5 was sold in three days! Please remove my post and contact information. Thanks for carrying on David's enterprise and supporting our community of sailors. Your site gets better every week.
