Montgomery 17s have cruised the Caribbean, Sea of Cortez and Gulf, as well as both the Atlantic and Pacific coasts. According to the designer, it is "heavy and stiff enough to drive off a lee shore in a storm. When a good blow comes, she will still be out sailing when others are struggling back to shore." The boat is fast, dry and stable; a real confidence-builder for its owner. After 48 years of sailing, it's the best performing boat I've ever owned.

Seranita has been extensively restored over the last 4 years; and while 34 years old, is often mistaken for new. She comes with an extensive list of equipment and accessories - expensive stuff that doesn't come with a new boat. This rare "tall rig" model carries about 6% more sail area than standard. She has been sailed in SanDiego, Lake Navajo, CO and in the 2011 Florida 120. Selling due to age and wife who prefers Holland America's boats.
