O'Day 240, 24 ft, 1988

  • LOA: 24' 7"
  • beam: 8' 3"
  • draft: 2' 8"
  • (original) sail area: 246 sq ft
  • ballast: 1,200 lb,
  • displacement: 3,600 lb

Sailing World's "Boat of the year", 1989.

  • Fixed winged keel provides comfortable stability and surprisingly good performance for a family oriented boat - as well as an exceptionally shallow draft (2' 8").
  • The wide, deep hull makes this boat very roomy for its length.
  • There is an enclosed port-o-potty, sink, large cooler, water tank and bunks for sleeping four.

The boat has been used and maintained by one owner to date and is in good, serviceable condition - with the exception that hull has not been painted for this season.

  • Lines and blocks, etc. have been replaced as needed.
  • Original roller-reefing genoa was replaced with 115% non-reefing genoa - which improved performance notably.
  • Original genoa was cut down to provide a storm jib.
  • The Main sail is original; it is serviceable, but a new main would boost performance.
  • 9.9 hp 2-stroke Evinrude is about 15 years old and was recently refurbished (rebuilt carb, new water pump, thermostat, plugs) Price includes all periperals - anchor, original manuals for boat and motor, fire extinguisher, boat hook, paddle, extra lines, solar charger, etc.
  • The battery, gas tank and fuel lines were replaced in 2009.

The trailer is included, but it has been used for winter storage only and is not suitable for transport.
