This boat is in great shape for its age. SJ21 are very forgiving and fast boats. Even though we have not sailed her (due to mostly being too busy and needing a smaller boat that is more trailerable by a car) we have maintained and cleaned her inside and out periodically. She is not in perfect condition, but considering that she is 32 years old, she is in great shape. Total rig weight with trailer is about 2500 lbs.
Setup/takedown is easy: the mast can be raised and lowered single-handed, with the forestay the only standing rigging to be attached/detached.
I never got to change over the Kansas registry to Illinois, and the trailer is not registered because this is not required in Kansas. This boat is perfect for trailering (with something a bit larger than a car for longer trips) and weekend sailing. I have all the documents, title, original instructions/etc.
