This is a project that has stalled... yours to finish!!!
The Ensign, manufactured by Pearson, was enshrined in the National Sailing Hall of Fame as one of the most significant boats in US history.
This project was started a couple of years ago.
+ Everything has been stripped from boat, annotated, and set aside. It's all there to put back together. All the hardware is there.
+ Gel coat on deck has been striped
+ Mast Step Floor Stringers replaced with solid white Oak bonded to hull and completely encapsulated in epoxy. Cabin sole still needs to be rebuilt.
+ Main Bulkhead has been replaced with hardwood veneer plywood, stained with teak....and also bonded to the hull and deck and encapsulated in epoxy
+ Chain plate knees and thru deck openings have been restored
+ All Bronze fittings (stem, chain plates and bolts, tiller fittings) have been stripped, sanded bright and then aged with an acid for a traditional Patina finish
+Teak everywhere.....Comings, seats, cockpit sole, doors, etc. Tiller is Mahogany. Some has been stripped, sanded and ready to refinish with: Oil/Varnish/Cetol....your choice.
All hardware included. Sails (two sets incly spinnaker) are in good/serviceable condition. But, if you indent to race, you better plan on a new set. A Spinnaker and all hardware & pole are included.
Also included are the usual compass, boat hook pole, alum whisker pole, etc.
A dual axle heavy duty Trailer, specifically built for an Ensign is offered for an additional $700.
Texas Title is in hand. Registration is good until Sep 2014.
Boat has actively cruised and raced in only the fresh waters of Lake Lewisville, N of Dallas Texas.
Third picture is a sister Ensign that I restored a few years ago. This one can be just as nice!
