Up for sale is a 1980 San Juan 28 in great working condition and good cosmetic condition. I am regrettably forced to put her up for sale due to uncertainty about my job location in the coming months. She has been well maintained and has been in freshwater for her known life. She is a very fast boat and is competitive in racing. She is built in the spirit of IOR, with a wide beam and pinched stern, small battened main and massive foresail. I single-hand her about 50% of the time, she is easy to handle even in high wind and seas. She sails well in light (5 knots) and heavy (>30knots) breezes and takes heavy seas with ease. She points to wind very well. With a 2:1 displacement/ballast ratio, fin keel, and spade rudder, she is very stable, forgiving, and responsive.

The NADA value is ~$15k, I'm offering her at a greatly reduced price for a faster sale. I hate to see her go, she has been a wonderful boat to me. However, I'm happy that she will bring the next owner many great memories! Many more pictures available upon request!
