South Coast 21, 1968

The South Coast 21 was designed by Carl Alberg and is one of the few fin-keeled boats he designed.

  • It is a fast boat and has a large comfortable cockpit.
  • We keep our boat moored in Port Townsend, Washington, sail her on Puget Sound, and receive frequent compliments.

  • 2 mains: original & a nearly new Lee
  • 3 jibs: nearly new working, 100%, & genoa
  • Outboard: 4-stroke Yamaha 4hp ~ 20 hrs
  • Running rigging replaced 2010
  • Hull repainted 2009 Awlgrip

  • LOA: 21'4"
  • LWL: 14'4"
  • Beam: 6'11"
  • Draft: 3'
  • Displacement: 2000lbs
  • Ballast: 625lbs
  • Sail Area: 191 Sq Ft

Small Craft Advisor Magazine reviewed our boat in 2009 and had many great things to say about her - we even made the magazine's cover (issue 58)!

  • "The SC21 was stoutly constructed. We thought the hull and deck felt very solid..."
  • "The South Coast felt solid under sail and had a bigger boat feel..."
  • "The boat pointed quite well and tacked in about 90 degrees ...performance remained excellent even as the afternoon breeze kicked up."
