INTERIOR

The interior of the 281 is finished with Varnished Cherry stained Mahogany. The layout is as follows: starting with a V berth forward behind curtains. There is ample storage outboard of the berth along the hull and underneath. Main salon has single berths P&S with a single leaf fold down centerline dining table. The cabin sole is teak & holly. A full Nav station is to starboard with storage and instrumentation, fold up desktop, VHF radio, AM/FM/CD stereo w/ salon BOSE speakers and 12v and 110v panels. The Galley is to port offering a 2-burner alcohol stove w/safety bar, large sink with mixer tap, cutlery drawer and trash bin. Pressurized Hot and Cold water are standard features for the galley and head. The head features 6' headroom, marine toilet, hooks for towel or foul weather gear, mirror on the door, storage cabinets, and opening port w/privacy shade. There is also a full stand up shower! Aft of the galley to port is a full double berth with a hanging locker. All 8 opening ports and 2-opening hatches have screens and shades; there are also reading lights throughout the cabin and 4-outlets. The Yanmar 18HP Diesel engine is located under the removable companionway steps as is the batteries. The beige fabric interior cushions are in great shape! The headroom is 6'3" so even though it's a 28' boat, you don't feel claustrophobic!

EXTERIOR

Starting forward is a SS bow pulpit with double lifelines, 24" stanchions, w/gates P&S. The anodized aluminum stemhead fitting has a bow roller and built in fairleads with rollers for dock lines. There is a large anchor locker for the #22 Danforth anchor, 10' chain and nylon rode. Aluminum slotted toe rails run the length of the hull w/fairleads for the docklines, 4 mooring cleats total. The large self-bailing cockpit has an opening helmsman's seat with access to the swim platform on the transom. The mast is a single set of swept back spreaders at 15 degrees, stainless 1x19 SS standing rigging, forestay with a Profurl roller furling unit and 2 year old 140% Genoa w/UV strip. The Doyle mainsail is in mast furling, led aft to a starboard deck organizer, sheet stoppers and a single 2-speed Self Tailing Lewmar winch on the cabin top. The mainsheet, main halyard and boom vang are also run to that winch, clean and simple. Both Genoa sheets are led to 2-speed self-tailing Lewmar #30 sheet winches P&S; the roller furling retrieval line is led aft on port. The cockpit with custom cockpit cushions has one large locker on port for all the needed supplies that are included; 50'shore-power cord, freshwater hose, boat hook, 5-fenders, 6-docklines, 4-life jackets and a throwable horseshoe. Single lever engine control and engine panels are located near the helm for easy access on port. The SS stern pulpit has stern rails seats; there is also a cockpit table and drink holder and lighted compass on the binnacle. On the stern, there is a cold water shower on the swim platform next to the drop down swim ladder attached to the transom.
