O'Day 25, 1977
"Betty Jane" is a 1977 25ft O'Day sailboat.
The boat has a spacious six foot cockpit as well as an 8 ft beam.
She is a self-righting vessel with 1890 pounds of lead in her shoal draft 2ft keel, which is perfect for the area, the Keys or the Bahamas.
As well her centerboard was just refurbished and reinstalled with all new hardware.
I had the boat in Key West for two years and before leaving at the beginning of this month I completed a two month rebuild which included:
Haulout and complete rebuild of bottom hual to repair all cracks and dings (no worries from water line down)
Two coats of bottom paint
Three coats of topside paint
Staining and rebedding of all deck teak and hardware
Resealing of windows
Installing 45 watt solar panel
New mast light
Installing a (never been used) Thetford chemical head plumbed for deck pump out (no hauling anything to shore)
New rubrail
New mainsail with full battens and radial patches
All original above waterline thru-hulls replaced with bronze.
7ft rowing dinghy included (no oars)
She comes with a 1997 6 hp two-stroke Johnson, very strong and light. Within the last month I replaced the power pack, leads, boots, coils, thermostat, and all lower gearcase seals.
The interior is the largest of its size for a 25ft boat. It is comfortable and clean. Full standing head room (no pop-top = no leak problems).
I am at the St. Augustine Municipal Marina, Slip 15
