Tartan Ten, 33 ft., 1979

  • #206

Tartan Yachts built 378 copies of this beautiful 10-meter offshore one-design from Sparkman and Stephens, the renowned maritime architects.

  • For day-sailing this fractional rig boat can be single-handed or carry up to a dozen crew on its 9 1/2 foot cockpit seating and flush decks.
  • For club racing it can be crewed by 2-3, serious one-design racing requires a crew of 5-7.
  • U S Sailing rates the T-10 at a quick 126 PERF. In 1998, Sail America inducted the Tartan Ten into the American Sailboat Hall of Fame.

This boat was originally raced in the Jacksonville Fleet and later raced out of Hilton Head; she was moved to Lake Lanier in 2008, where she has been gently club raced and day-sailed for the last five years.

  • This T-10 is sailed year-round.
  • Its original Farymann diesel engine was overhauled in 2012 and the transmission was replaced.
  • It has a new folding prop, shaft seal packing, fuel filter, cutlass bearing, battery charger and fuel lines.
  • The sails are in good condition and the current sail inventory includes a main, 2 class jibs, 2 genoas, and 2 spinnakers. The T-Ten Association is very active with Fleets on the Great Lakes, West and East Coasts. Parts are not a problem.
  • This is a well-made boat; last year a T-10 won its Class and came in 2nd Overall in the Single-handed Transpac race to Hawaii! Find out more about this great One-Design boat at www.tten.com.

It is an original boat, so many of the electronic and hardware systems could be upgraded if the new owner wanted to compete at the National level. This boat includes many extras, like a deck shade, cabin weather enclosure, wind scoop, tiller extender, life ring, boarding ladder, life vests & throw cushions, everything you need to sail NOW.

  • If you are ready to move up to a sailing Bugatti at a VW price, this may be your opportunity.
  • Asking $6,800, well below NADA, might consider trade for smaller trailer sailboat (16' - 20').

    These boats have a LOA = 33.15', LWL = 27', Beam = 9.25', Draft = 5' 10", SA = 486 sf, Displacement = 7,000 lb, Ballast = 3,500 lb (lead), PHRF = 126.
