The Atlantic City 24' Catboat is a recreation of the most famous east coast cruising catboat design, easy to sail with just one sail. She has a wide beam for stability and accommodations usually found only on 30'- 35' boats. You never have to leave the safety and comfort of the cockpit to raise or lower the sail. The cockpit alone can accommodate 10 people with easy control by a steering wheel.
This is a great cruiser even without the sail up. The 27 HP Westerbeke 3 cylinder diesel engine consumes very little fuel with a 3 blade bronze prop at speeds of 6-7 mph. The engine is monitored by alarmed meters for tachometer, water temperature, volts, oil and hours. Westerbeke engines are also made for the US Navy from their factory in the US.
