Swing Keel for sale. Designed by Halsey Herreshoff and in sail away condition! She is a strong, safe, good performing sailboat with 6 ft. of headroom in the cabin. She has served us well on Lake Michigan and has been well cared for.
Equipped with a reliable 2010 Suzuki 9.9THX Electric Start, High Thrust, Power Tilt, Extra Long Shaft outboard with cockpit controls for tight maneuvering or when the wind dies.
Recent upgrades include her compass (Contest) and depth sounder (Lowrance).
Full suit of sails including a mainsail cover and foresail bags for Jib and Genoa. Main has two reefing points, Jib has reefing points and a Storm Jib is included, so shefs ready for the unexpected from mother nature.
With halyards, topping lift and reefing lines led to the cockpit through rope clutches she is a joy to sail short handed, and the recently overhauled Lewmar cockpit winches give you the leverage you need.
The high capacity portalet was replaced in 2012 and is in an enclosed compartment. Waste is pumped out through a convenient deck fitting.
She also has a full galley with alcohol stove, and a sink with 5 gallons of freshwater. She is equipped with two coolers for extended stays.
For night sails she has spreader light in addition to all the standard running lights.
She comes with a heavy duty trailer with tandem 6,000 pound axles. Tires, bearings and brakes all new in 2011, even a couple of spare tires. For convenience at the boat ramp the trailer tongue extends, so you can launch without getting your truck wet.
The ingenious mast raising system makes it possible for one person to raise the mast, although two makes it easier.
She comes with all the equipment you need to get started, including VHF radio and masthead antenna, five PFDs, Fire Extinguisher, Boat Hook, Anchor and Rode and Dock Lines.
Deck and hull are very solid, all cushions are excellent. Note, main cabin cushions were modified to allow use of two coolers. I was in the process of replacing the factory fabric inner hull covering with indoor/outdoor carpet. The rest of the carpet comes with the boat.
NADA book value on the package is $8335, but I moved up to a bigger boat and want her gone. $6,200 takes her away.
