If you have wanted a Dovekie and are ready to buy...this may be the boat for you. She is ready to trail and sail. If you want the perfect ultra shoal draft sailboat for this season's Florida 120 or Texas 200 give me a call.
I just completed restoration of her spars. Spruce spars were stripped of hardware and old varnish. Mast restored with laminated fir/mahogany at upper shroud attachment point. Hole for shroud band oversized and epoxy filled and re-drilled to prevent future damage. All hardware re-bedded. Teak cleats replaced with custom Black Locust cleats. Seven coats of varnish re-applied.

This is a fun, versatile, inexpensive, easy to maintain, go anywhere sailboat that is ready to sail. In the two years I have owned it I used it to putter around the Tensaw River delta and I took one trip on the Erie Canal (NY State Barge Canal) under outboard power. Very easy to launch and rig. The boat sails "flat" on her flat bottom upwind so she is great for children or skittish adults who are uncomfortable heeling. Her low weight means she is miserly with fuel under power. The eastern red cedar grate I built for the cockpit keeps your sleeping bag off the deck keeping it dry.
I will deliver within 400 miles if needed if you buy the boat.
