Sturdy, proven, and beloved! The Ericson 27 is famous for its capabilities and ease of handling. This 1971 model has a documented history and a survey done in Dec 2012.
Beam: 9'. Draft: 3' 10". Displacement: 6600 lb.
New Yanmar 2GM 18 HP Diesel engine installed in 2002. Only 340 hours - engine runs beautifully, dripless prop shaft.
Sails: brand new heavy weather jib -- recently purchased and in perfect condition (approx 90% coverage). Genoa (approx 135% coverage) in good condition. Drifter (large lightweight sail, like a spinnaker but hanks on to headstay) in perfect condition and beautiful. Mainsail shows it age, but no rips or tears and in fair condition.
Bottom job done in December 2012, hull faired and painted, propeller cleaned, new cutlass bearing installed. The boat has never had a single fiberglass blister.
Interior: settee cushions and v-berth redone and in great condition. Kitchen: water pressure, Origo 3000 2-burner alcohol stove. Head: sani-pottie self-contained toilet, with pumpouts to sea or deck. Over 6 feet of headroom.
Misc: lifelines recently replaced with Dyneema. Brand new compass. Garmin GPS with chartplotter and depthfinder. Hard-wired marine VHF radio. 65 watt solar panel with MPPT charger recently installed. Companionway hatch cover rebuilt. Brand new Harken traveler - car and track. Swim ladder. PFDs. 2 anchors with tackle. Tiller steering.
Our baby's recent arrival means I don't have enough time to get on the water. The boat is looking for her next owner, and we hope to find a good home for her! Great daysailer, weekender, or cruiser. Boat is in the water at a marina in Corpus Christi, TX.
