description:
Classic mid '60's - early 70's Glastron Alpha was made in Austin, Texas,
Alphas were many Texas sailors' first good boat.
With a larger sail area and higher aspect ratio than a Sunfish or most of the other boardboats, Alphas are like sailing a Sunfish on steroids.
This boat sails very much like a Sunfish, and is launchable by one person, but has room for two adults. The high level of build quality for which Glastron was noted is apparent throughout. Note the nice bow flair - it helps to pop the boat up on a plane.
The boat:
Hull, sail, daggerboard, tiller, rudder, and spars are in good condition. A couple of small parts (eyebolt, wedge to secure daggerboard) are missing. Seller will help buyer find these if desired.
The trailer:
Has new hitch, bow stop, wiring. All lights work. 1 7/8 inch ball included.
