I bought this boat a little over two years ago and moved it from Greer's Ferry to Lake Ouchita. According to the previous owner, it has been a fresh water boat its whole life in Arkansas. It was professionally moved by Jolly Roger Marina. During the move the boat was on the dry for four months where it received a bottom job with both barrier and anti fouling paint. During that time all new running rigging was installed. The Yanmar diesel engine was fully serviced top to bottom.
This boat performs perfectly under power and sails great. I also had the jib serviced by SailCare where it underwent the LaMauney Reconditioning Process and purchased a brand new main sail with all options, batten, reefing, etc. This was a $1700 mainsail.
If you are not familiar with the Hunter 28.5 it is a well equipped boat that is a great weekend sailer for live aboard with galley, head and forward and aft sleeping berths.
Right now there are about 10 for sale on www.yachtworld.com ranging in price from $13,900 to $28,500. I feel this is a well priced yacht that sails great and big enough for the family, a perfect lake sailboat.
The price is negotiable if someone buys it right away because my annual slip fees are due next month. They are right at $1000/year. If you want to move the boat and I don't have to pay the slip we can knock $1000 off the price.
Attached is are actual pictures of this boat. The reason I am selling the boat is because I returned to school last year to obtain my Masters degree and have no time between work, school and family to sail.
