Mariner 31 1971 small ketch for sale.
One of the best small blue water ships ever built. 1971 Mariner 31 ketch has mainmast, mizzen and roller furl headsail for easy sail management. Good set of sails with spare set. Fiberglass hull of less than 4 ft. draft has always been fresh water with never any blisters. Ship delivered from factory with all available options including good teak deck and a hard dingy carried aft on cast davits.
Engine is a nice running 4 cyl. Perkins diesel (764 hours total time) that holds 55 lb. oil pressure at idle rpm. Fresh oil change, fuel filters and a new Interstate high crank battery. Single lever throttle and transmission control.
Interior is mahogany with berths for 6 people. Main cabin (6ft.4in. headroom) entry has teak sliding hatch leading to the spiral staircase down. There are four opening quality portholes in the cabin, galley and head. V-berth has a private door access to the head (shower, toilet, sink), a latching door to cabin for total privacy and a hanging closet (doors all hardwood). The head also has its own door to the cabin separate from the v-berth. The v-berth has prism lighting and a large opening teak hatch to the bow. 40 gallon fresh water tank and toilet tank with external pump out.
USCG documented which provides full pedigree for international travel. If you want to lake sail, live aboard or sail to the Bahamas this is the ship for you. There have been 4 owners since new with plenty of documentation.
