Up for sale is my 2002 Crawford Melonseed sailing and rowing skiff, in excellent condition. If you're not familiar with this boat, do a little research: There is no finer boat of its type. Sailing performance is outstanding, in a wide range of conditions, with plenty of stability and classic good looks. The materials and craftsmanship are superb.
Length: 13'8"
Beam: 4'3"
Draft: 6" with the centerboard up, 2'6" with the centerboard down.
Displacement: 235 pounds.
Sail area: 62 square feet.
The hull and deck are ivory, perfect for the sunny Southland and much easier to maintain than a dark colored hull. This boat has a beautiful tanbark sail, in excellent condition, and includes everything you see in the photographs, to include a set of fine Barkley Sound oars fitted to the boat. The boat rides on a Long trailer, in good condition and ready for a road trip.
I'm in no hurry to sell the boat, so no low-ball offers, please. Do some research on the cost of a new boat and trailer (over 12 grand) and the cost of other used boats on the market - you won't find a better deal.
SOLD. My Crawford Melonseed sold, the first day on the market, to a fella over in Mobile who checks the Sailing Texas website regularly. Thanks!
