Pearson 26, 1978
Corinthian Sailing Association of Lake Pontchartrain's 2013 Boat of the Year can now be yours. Owner is moving to a larger boat.
This racer/cruiser is the perfect boat for Lake Pontchartrain's many racing and cruising opportunities. She features a 2010 Tohatsu 9.8 HP outboard, 3-year-old Ullman sails (main and roller furling genoa), new standing rigging (2009), auto pilot, VHF, radio/cd, life jackets, anchor and rode, bimini, head (no holding tank), inflatable dingy, whisker pole, spinnaker pole and spinnaker and much more.
I had the Delrin bushings replaced on the rudder (see Dan Pfeiffer's web page below).
A diver cleans the bottom every month, but she will probably need a new bottom in a year or two.
She comes with sailing lessons from an ASA certified sailing instructor.
Check out the keel bolts and the bilge--nothing but dust!
Don't wait. She's priced to move.
This review sums it up best
The Pearson 26 is an ideal boat to test the waters, so to speak, to see if sailing is indeed something you might enjoy. If you find you can't get enough time on the water, the P26 is not a boat you will quickly outgrow. It pleases on a variety of levels. With prices ranging from $6,000 to $9,000, it is hard to go wrong with this popular American-built favorite.
