This is possibly the cleanest original Venture of Newport hull in existence. Fresh water boat from Minnesota and always stored indoors or undercover. I just removed every piece of hardware nut and bolt from the decks, polished and waxed the whole boat and then rebedded all hardware with 3M 4200. Windows were removed, frames painted bronze and each one resealed and installed with marine grade silicone. Every piece of wood was removed, stripped, and re-varnished. The keel still has the original finish on it and I left it that way so that you can see there's never been any rust or corrosion on it. Original cushions are still in amazing shape and were just steam cleaned. This boat is immaculate!
The Venture Newport 23' is a swing-keel cutter made by MacGregor from 1973 to 1984 and has a loyal following of club members and Venture enthusiasts. With its raked mast, signature taffrail, bowsprit and classic lines, this versatile and practical boat evokes the nostalgia of sailing vessels from a century ago. Yet with a sturdy fiberglass hull and fully retractable iron swing keel this vessel is easy to maintain at home on it's trailer and with it's 1.5 foot draft (swing keel-up) it can be beached in a quiet cove, or you can explore the endless inland waters and coastal waterways anywhere in the country or on the continent.
