The Potter 19's keel design retracts vertically into the hull. The fully retracting keel allows the Potter to be fully beachable. The keel is raised and lowered by using a winch which is operated from the cockpit so the keel can be easily raised and lowered while under sail without having to leave the helm. Also the Potter 19 has closed cell foam flotation, fore and aft, and is unsinkable.
I have improved and added an additional purchase on the keel system for ease of raising the keel. A couple of blocks on the cable system running from the winch handle to the keel need to be replaced. The current ones work fine but it is time to replace them.
Other necessary repairs:
New bow and stern lights need to be installed. The keel trunk has some cracks-cosmetic only and needs to be re-glassed. As mentioned, 2 blocks need to be replaced on keel raising system. The hull is green and it is faded.
