The Catalina Capri 26 was designed as a performance family cruiser. With a enclosed head, galley, and aft berth the boat is perfect for daysailing or spending the night at anchor. The Capri 26 was built by Catalina Yachts starting in 1990 and was designed to be a performance family boat. Over 300 boats were built when the last hull left the mold in 1997. "Nostos" is #243 of 300.
A great sailboat, very clean and well cared for -- comfortable with a roomy cockpit -- a solid boat ready to sail. With teak interior, the Capri 26 has a beamy cabin with decent head room for a boat of its size. It also has a walk through transom with a boarding ladder in the cockpit and it is extremely fun to sail. There are two large berths and it will easily sleep four adults. This boat includes an inboard diesel engine with a shoal wing keel. All canvas was redone in 2009, sails are still in excellent shape and the headsail has a winter cover and new in 2012 sacrificial sun cover.
1995 Capri 26 with a wing keel. Head sail is a 135% furling with a CDI self furling system. A 18 hp Perkins was installed because the normal 12hp Universal wasn't available during production. The interior has been modified to provide a larger galley and hanging wardrobe on the port side. The original V-berth has been modified for storage. The boats been used as a live aboard when sailing the Keys. It sleeps 4 very comfortably at the dinette and the aft transverse berth. All the exterior teak has been replaced with white polymer(starboard). The original rubber rub rail insert has been replaced with light grey polymer. Custom blue carpet throughout.
