We have enjoyed trailer sailing this boat for four years, but now that we live near "Big Water" it is time to once again look for a larger boat to have in the water full time.
The best attributes of the Eclipse are:
Ease of trailering - set up and launch under your own timetable going wherever you want to explore.
No cost storage in your own back yard.
Your maintenance cost will be lower while on the trailer in your garage or yard.
The boat is an excellent sailing craft; a light, responsive and balanced tiller feels like my former 27 foot fin keel sloop.
The combination of the shoal draft fixed keel and the centerboard, combined with kick up rudder allow exploration of shallow water, and excellent up wind tracking as well.
The large, cockpit seats four adults and is easily accessible via the open transom and boarding ladder after a swim. The well-designed cabin interior maximizes usable space for storage, sitting out bad weather, using the head, or heating up a meal on the stove.
An overnight stay extends your fun and opens possibilities for more exploration.
And last, but certainly not least, she is an extremely attractive little yacht - You don't want to Sail no ugly boat!
