CSK/Schock catamaran, 1971
Here's your chance to own a great family sailing catamaran for trips to Belize, the Bay Islands and other Caribbean destinations for under
$35,000
This boat is a 1971 37' CSK/Schock cat. She has a 17' beam. She is the production version of the boat Buddy Ebsen (Beverly Hillbillies, Barnaby Jones, etc.) sailed in the 1967 Trans-Pac, and won (on corrected time)!
It weighs only 3 tons and only draws 2.5' of water, making it an excellent boat for sailing in shallow water. It can easily be tucked tightly behind a Caye to avoid heavy winds and seas and enjoy peaceful nights at anchor.
It is also a VERY fast boat. She easily does mid to high teens. I frequently sail with just the jib at 8 MPH! That of course means you can cover a LOT more water during daylight hours.
Recently completed major refurbish with some marine architect-approved interior modifications, which provides much more living space and hull ventilation. She has also had the tiller steering converted to a steering wheel, which provides a more roomy cockpit under sail.
Ft. Pierce, Florida
Being that she's a racing cruiser, her accommodations are targeted for that application. She has a very roomy salon with a table that becomes a double bed. She also has another double bed and three other twins, two of which have low headroom and are more appropriate for children. She's currently set up with 3 bucket toilets (with seats).
