This boat won the Monterey Cruiser Challenge two years ago beating all comers including Sage 17s, which is specifically what I bought her for.
Brand new Elliot Pattison race main (never hoisted, got it after the race), Genoa and working jib (both brand EP sails new and used only twice for the Monterey race weekend).
Before I acquired her, this boat had suffered severe keel damage from rusting steel ballast, the Achilles heel of the older 17s. Before the Monterey race the boat was taken to Montgomery Boats in Ontario, CA and the entire keel was cut off of the hull. A brand new keel and keel trunk was laid up in the original M17 mold and professionally bonded to the hull inside and out.
I kept her with the original cast iron quadrant centerboard which was sandblasted, filled, and faired. 100% lead ballast installed.
Interior is the version with small galley on port side. No cushions.
Windows modified to the newer style M17 Windows.
New mast and boom.
Standing rigging for new mast needs to be made.
Old mast and boom which was used for the Monterey race is included.
Boat had been painted by brush on the topsides.
Paint has been sanded off to the original gelcoat.
Deck is original gelcoat and was never painted.
Rudder is original solid mahogany in fair condition.
Boat is ready for a professional paint job if you want or sail her like she is.
The look on people's faces is priceless as she sails by them! LOL
She's ugly but if you sail her well she's fast.
Pacific Trailer with permanent tongue extension in good shape.
There's close to $3k in brand new sails alone.
I've moved into aviation and am not sailing for the moment.
