Stevenson Design Weekender, 2002

  • Original builders plans included
  • Highlander trailer & spare tire
  • Dacron 135% jib, poly tarp main per plans
  • Home-made roller furling - works great!
  • Aluminum mast and spars.
  • Dodger & awning
  • Removable grey marine carpet on the cabin floor (not shown)
  • Antique oil burning copper running lights
  • Location: Manhattan, Kansas

    Specs: see designers web page

According to the builder, the boat was built a bit heavier than plans called for:

  • 3/4" bulkheads
  • 3/8" hull sides, 3/8" cabine topsides, 1/2" cabin top, 1/2" transom,

Also the cabin was raised 3" for greater headroom.

  • Owner stated it was covered in 6 oz. fiberglass cloth w/ epoxy top and bottom.
  • The keel is covered in one layer of woven roving and three layers of 6 oz. cloth.
  • Trailer uses 1 7/8" ball.
  • Price: $1,600

Our Weekender sets up quickly and tows easily behind our Subaru Forester. Highlander trailer, included. Roller furling Genoa and gaff-headed mainsail. Canvas bimini and matching sail covers. LOA is 19'6".

  • This boat is equipped with a tiller instead of the wheel as shown online. I prefer the tiller for sailing alone.
  • Easy to rig and easy to break down for towing.
  • Small area of wood rot in topside of both cockpit locker top hatches - should be within capability of handy-man skill level to repair.
