Melonseed Skiff, 2016
I built this boat in 2016 using plans purchased from Wooden Boat Magazine.
Built of 1/4 marine plywood,
lapstrake construction, all bronze fasteners, epoxy glue, fiberglassed bottom.
Boat has the following dimensions;
length 13'4", beam 4'2", draft 3" board up, 2'4" down, approximate weight 150 lbs.
It has a 65 sq ft Sailrite sail, which is designed to be brailed but hoops around the mast also allow one to drop the sail to the deck.
It has a comma-shaped dagger board set forward of the cockpit. Drain empties into dagger board case. Rudder slides up when grounded.
This boat has room for two, is easy but fun to sail.
Oars and trailer included. Trailer is from Harbor Freight with goal posts, winch, and tongue jack.
Lights on top of goal posts never get wet.
