Cape Dory 30, 1983

Only those interested in a project boat should contact me. Dovekie is priced to sell to the right buyer.

  • The starboard toe-rail and life-lines have some damage from hurricane Ike. The starboard hull has scratches where she rubbed against a pier.
  • The diesel (MD7B fresh water cooled has sat idle for two years.)
  • She has a 2-year old Bimini and mainsail cover in gray.
  • Her cockpit floorboard has been refurbished to stiffen after leakage around pedestal.
  • The mainsail and jib have been repaired and are stored off the boat.

She is located on Clear Lake.

  • Dovekie is a Cape Dory 30' Cutter; a roller furling jib and a self tending staysail complete her foretriangle.
  • Edson wheel steering (complete rebuilt with Edison parts), in addition to sails, eight bronze opening ports, diesel auxiliary, lifelines and pulpits.
  • Two translucent opening hatches add light and important ventilation on a hot summer day.
  • AC window unit in companionway door (original companionway doors are varnished and not aboard.)

The 30 was designed by Carl Alberg to meet the needs of the serious cruiser: there are berths for five, including a double, in the two cabins. The head is accessible behind closed doors from either cabin, and there is ample locker and storage space throughout. The re-designed galley includes storage areas, two burner gimbaled stove with oven (LPG with tanks) and top-loading ice box.

    Photos available for serious queries.
