The Catalina Aero 20 was originally designed for accessible sailing and is a variation of the Independence 20 which is used by accessible sailing programs like "Sail To Prevail" in Newport, RI and is 1 of only 5 built by Catalina in this configuration.
She has a free standing carbon fiber and fiberglass “aerorig” built by Forespar which essentially reduces active sail control to just the main sheet.
The jib sheet sits on a traveler attached to the mast.
The boat is very fast (used to have a J24 and I was very impressed with this boat's speed), forgiving, extremely stable and absolutely effortless to sail.
The HUGE 11’ cockpit can fit 6 adults (and 2 golden retrievers) comfortably.
This is the ideal boat for entertaining guests who are not familiar with sailing without having to sacrifice performance.
Roller furling jib, full batten mainsail, stack-pack mainsail cover with lazy-jack reefing system, swim ladder, bimini that can be used while sailing are all included.
Also comes with a like new 2017 mercury 4hp 4 stroke engine and a 2008 galvanized triad trailer in mint condition.
