In May 2019 I hauled the boat at J and R boat storage, Charlotte Harbor, Fl. For the hurricane season. Photo in gallery. Then Covid hit and we did not return and left it there for the 2020 hurricane season finally returning mid Nov. 2021. Launching early March 2022.
Boat is cruise ready. How can I say that? I’m living onboard and presently cruising the S/W coast of Florida.
Between arriving in Nov. and launching in March I made the following upgrades.
All new lead acid batteries.
New cutlass bearing
New engine to shaft coupling
Rebuild stuffing box
Realign engine
Register Walker Bay dinghy in Florida
Reinforcements to chainplate
New thru hull valve for toilet intake
New thru hull valve for galley
Addition of induction cooktop
New raw water pump on engine.
Nissan dinghy motor totally rebuilt.
Polished hull.
New am/fm radio
New main halyard.
In the process of repainting the mast.
There are now 418 hrs on the new engine.
Recently reregistered in fl. As an antique boat until may 2020.
Over a 4 year period we stripped her to bare glass inside and out. The interior is varnished mahogany. Rotted wood was replaced. Cabin sole is teak and holly.
When i say new that means within the last 4 years with some things newer.
Sails : jib/genoa roller furling. Clean in good condition. I use it quite a bit.
Main: may be original. Has islander logo imprinted.
Mainsail cover is new within the 4 year period.
Anchors: a 35 lb cqr on the bow
A small, aluminum danforth for a stern anchor with a ss mount on the stern.

Hull: we stripped the bottom, 2 coats of barrier coat and as to date 3 coats of sea hawk bottom paint.
The hull was stripped, 2 coats of hand sanded primer and 2 coats of white easyposy rolled and tipped. New lettering, boot stripe trim.
Topside: toe rails removed and 94 thru bolts and sealant replaced on each side.
All stancheons and railings removed, rebedded and new ss thru bolts.
New main halyard and boom sheet lines.
Added ss dinghy davits and rigging.
Added stancheon to davits for proposed wind generator.
Added mounting teak boards for proposed solar panels.
New interlux deck paint.
New deck non skid paint.
Added new richie compass
New ray marine 7" chart plotter/depth sounder dragonfly pro 7.
Used ray marine 4000 autopilot.
Electrical: added led to running lights and mast light.
800.00 ss battery charger can serve 3 separate battery banks

Standing rigging: new ss wire installed 2 years before i bought the boat 4 years ago. Exellent condition.

Rotted headliners removed. 1" insulation added and and new naugahide throughout.
Insulation added throughout behind cabinets.
4 new large windows originals added @ 200.00 each.
All portlights removed and rebeded.
Main salon hatch and solar fan replaced. Screen added.
Main hatch roll up screen and insulated weather cover added.
Screen added to fwd hatch over v berth.
Im sure that i have forgotten things but this boat is cruise ready. Im doing it now.
