This Lyle Hess cult classic has been completely restored in the past 6 months
Exterior:
Centerboard dropped, stripped, epoxy sealed and reinstalled, new hard ware and line
Nice swing up rudder conversion from origional rudder so the boat can be sailed up to the beach
Fresh bottom paint.
New transom (wood core replaced, west epoxy)
Fresh gray awlgrip on hull sides.
Exterior teak taken to bare wood and varnished with epiphanes.
Topside gelcoat still has its luster and is a great tough easy to clean surface.
Stantions with bronze bases added (3 strand life lines)
New synthetic (4mm) standing rigging (old 3mm stainless still servicable is included)
New running rigging (spliced halyards)
Leather on spreader tips
Mainsail in great shape, jib is 150%, was a furling sail, will be adding grommets and hanks
New masthead anchor light, vhf antenna and windex.
Garmin 176c gps and standard vhf
Tohatsu 6hp 4 stroke on adjustable bracket.
Interior:
New blue seas electrical panel,
Rewired.
Teak countertop, teak/wicker doors and other teak trim added to interior, oiled
Origo single burner alcohol stove
20 gallon water bladder under cockpit with hand pump at sink, new plumbing.
Original coushins have plenty of life left
I am out of town till about july 1st, i am trying to drum up interest so i can sell it quickly when i return. Boat can be seen on its trailer in the mean time and will be sailing when i return
A few things stil need to be done, i will tend to them as i can when i return
She needs a mainsail cover.
Original steel Trailer is solid and functional and great for around south fla, but could use a paint job and bearing and tires for any long haul, if i sink money into it the price will go up.
There is a rocna anchor and anchor roller to be installed on the bow (2 other danforth anchors included)
This is one of the nicest examples of an M17 you will find. No dissapointments
