Displacement 3,400 lbs
1976 Ranger 23 sailboat, this boat was stored in a barn on its custom built trailer in Colorado for 25 years. Boat and trailer were bought new in 1977 and was sailed one year in Marina Del Ray, California before being moved to a fresh water lake in Colorado for 4 years before being stored in an enclosed barn for over 25 years by the original owner. I bought it new from the second owner who rarely sailed it himself and stored in in covered storage in the winters. As a result, the boat is beautiful and the original gelcoat shines like new.
It is rigged or racing and has two jib halyards, spinnaker halyard, topping lift and downhaul. It has a main, 120%, 150%, spinnaker. The main and 150% were purchased in 2015. The 120% was bought in the summer of 2018. Both headsails are roller curler and used on a CDI roller furling system. All standing rigging was replaced in 2017. The tandem axle trailer was custom made for the boat from the factory in Costa Mesa, California in 1977.
The 9.9 hp Suzuki with electric start and tilt was bought new in 2017 at a cost of $3,300 and has less than 20 hours of time. The boat was hauled out in April of this year and received a fresh bottom job and wax job ($1,800). Boat also includes a 5,000 btu air conditioner to keep the boat cold, dry, and smelling fresh.
No expense has been spared on “Serenity” and much more has been spent than the asking price. His boat is obviously not a fixer upper and is ready to sail today. If you’re wanting to purchase a boat from a self admitted OCD boat owner, this is your boat.
Asking price is $6,550 for the total package
