The SAN JUAN MARK II was introduced in 1974 after nearly 1000 of the earlier versions had been built. The MARK II, is a raised deck version of the MARK I with the companionway moved aft to allow for more interior space. The Mark I and Mark II were produced concurrently, until the last Mark I was produced in 1977. 2600 San Juan’s were built. This is hull #1709.

The boom is a roller type for the Main and has a nice custom blue canvas cover. All running (and standing) rigging are in excellent shape. Includes a Boom Vang and Cunningham.

All cushions inside are in excellent shape, as is the general state of the interior. The sink is included but has been removed for more storage. There is a designated space for a porta-pottie.

Notes: This boat is fast and nimble. It’s quite easy to learn to sail her. She has only seen lake and rivers and has been stored inside on her trailer during the winter The boat is great for trailer sailing and launches very well in skinny water. With the swing up keel and kick up rudder it is easy to get close to or onto beaches. The boat is self-righting with the keel down and if over powered will round up into the wind. A very safe family boat. The interior has adequate storage and space for cruising. I have recent maintenance records and a wealth of information about the boat and its history, along with boat and equipment manuals. The hull shows some gelcoat spider checking and chalking normal for its age. The teak is solid but weathered and could use some TLC. There are no functional issues at all with the hull or deck, a solid boat.
