Balboa 24', 1981, sailboat for sale

  • Sailboat, trailer & outboard, $3,300, Muncie, Indiana.
  • Price Reduced, from $4,400 without motor, to $3,300 including outboard.

Most mid-sized trailerable sailboats are pretty much the same. This unique craft - a 24 foot Laguna Balboa - is in a class by itself for several special reasons.

THIS SAILBOAT MIGHT BE PERFECT FOR YOU IF:

  • You want fun, easy sailing for yourself or your family - or for four adults - but you don’t need to take all of your friends out on a sailboat party at once.
  • You’d like a cabin big enough to sit inside out of the rain or hot sun, and to sleep 2 - 4 while tied up at the dock or at anchor, but you don’t need a Winnebago on the water.
  • You are pleasantly surprised to learn that one person can easily sail this boat alone, seated in a comfortable chair, without having to jump across the cockpit to grab a different line every time you change direction.
  • You would like the ability to confidently take your boat out on any day of the sailing season, even scooting past other boats that are dead in the water in light wind, or when other folks are frantically trying to keep from capsizing and your boat barely tips to the side because your rig adapts to brisk wind, converting sideways force into forward motion, with a mainsail that easily reefs down to 60% normal size, and because you have three headsails to choose from: a standard jib, a 150% Genoa, and a 60% storm jib.
  • And you wouldn’t mind sailing a bit faster than most other sailboats on the lake, aboard your beautiful, sleek, and comfortable classic, named “Sea Quester 2020.”

    EQUIPMENT

  • Four Sails in fine condition (described above).
  • A real keel for excellent stability (versus a retractable centerboard that can get stuck in the up or down position by invasive mussels, or leave you stranded when the rope breaks).
  • A great Road Runner double axel trailer - four new tires in January of 2020 - custom fitted to this boat with keel guides, a tongue extension, guide-ons, Bearing Buddies, a spare wheel & tire, and lights that stay dry when you launch.
  • A compass, marine battery, electronic thru-hull speedometer and depth gauges, as well as interior lighting, running lights, and an anchor light on the mast. Anchor and rode, in a handy locker on the foredeck.
  • Tiller steering with a genuine Tiller Clutch by Wavefront (way superior to all the other rope-and-clamp steering devices).
  • Matching blue Sunbrella sail covers for the Main and Genoa, and a full shade cover to protect the cabin and companionway hatch from rain and the hot summer sun, plus bow bags for the Jib and storm jib.

Very dependable 5 hp Nissan 2-stroke outboard with a self-contained fuel tank.

  • A Luggable Loo “toilet” behind a privacy wall.
  • Lifelines, fire extinguisher, a swim ladder, life jackets, boat hook and emergency paddle, fenders and dock lines.
  • Have clear titles for boat and trailer.
  • $3,300.

Available by appointment, in a slip at Muncie Sailing Club on Prairie Creek Reservoir, Muncie, Indiana.
