Peep Hen, 14 ft., 1988 sailboat for sale

  • Located Ocala FL

Selling my 14' Peep Hen sailboat. Just back from a week cruising, ready to go in the water today. Everything is sorted out and functional.

  • This is great little boat.

    Peep Hen

  • Only weighs 650 lbs, so you can tow her with any car.
  • Gelcoat is glossy with some scratches. No soft spots in deck.
  • Very spacious, cockpit seats four adults easily. Big enough for sleeping. Bimini for sun shade can be used while sailing.
  • Very stable. Six foot beam means she heels very little. No need to hike out.
  • Gaff rigged cat with aluminum mast hinged in tabernacle. Easily raised, one pin and no standing rigging to fool with. Boom gallows supports mast when trailering.
  • Be in the water in 5 minutes. Keel configuration makes it a breeze getting her back on trailer.
  • Tanbark sail in good condition with two reefs. Good running rigging. Sailcover. Windex at masthead. High boom prevents getting knocked on the head.
  • With centerboard up, she only draws 9". Easy to beach and she can sail in shallowest of waters. Forward anchor well keeps sand and mud out of the boat.
  • Very nice cabin with 2 good size bunks with decent cushions, a workable countertop, a portapotty, tubs, a shelf and hammocks for gear storage. Thick walled styrofoam cooler holds ice for 5 days.
  • Has backrests for bunks, making lounging below comfortable.
  • Has camper canvas with screens and windows turning cockpit into another cabin.
  • Swim ladder at stern.
  • Includes anchor/rope and docklines.
  • Trailer in good shape, just did 550 mile trip without problems. New tires including spare and bearings. New lights all work. Long tongue on trailer allows launching without putting vehicle in water.

Has motor mount area and storage for fuel can, but no outboard included. Two HP is more than enough.

  • No electric system or electronics- I just used handhelds or phone.
  • Bimini is old and threadbare with some small holes- good for sun but not rain.
  • $5950 or near offer. These boats are uncommon and in high demand.
