I have used the boat for the past 8 years for cruising up and down the coast of Lake Michigan,
mostly pulling her up small creeks or using the boat roller to pull her up on the beach.
There are a couple of places where the gelcoat has chipped off (total about the size of a dime) from rocks in the creeks.
There is also an ugly white epoxy patch job about the size of a silver dollar on the starboard foredeck.
That being said, they didn't affect anything so they just didn't bother me.
The sails are older with a few stains but no damage. The main has two reefs and the associated hardware on the boom.
I made a new centerboard and rudder about two years ago.
While the baseline CL16 is unsinkable, it is NOT self salvageable in the event of a capsize / swamping.
This is because there is a void between the hull and the liner that will fill with water.
I filled this void with 2-part expanding foam in the floor and on the lower parts of the sides.
I purposely swamped the boat and was able to bail it out and get it sailing again.
In addition I added a mast top float from a Hobiecat to the top of the mast to prevent turtling. MUCH safer for cruising now.
Only selling because wife wants a boat that doesn't heel and I bought a Seapearl trimaran on this site.
